Worldwide Video

May 23rd, 2006

Avelate posted a request on the forums for people to create a video with clips from traceurs all over the world.

I am posting this to ask you to be a part a worldwide, collaborative parkour film. Parkour Connection is creating a film about the unity of the worldwide parkour scene. We are trying to show how powerful the worldwide parkour network actually is. In the film a man drops his wallet at the airport. A respectful traceur reaches to hand it to
him,but the man has already disappeared into the crowd. Looking into the wallet, the traceur discovers the man’s destination. Rather than giving up, the traceur leaves the airport, uses parkour to advance the wallet to its destination, and throws the wallet off the screen. In the next scene, another traceur somewhere else in the worldcatches the wallet and continues the wallet’s journey accross the world.

This seems to have picked up a lot of interest both here and in other parkour communities across the world. Looking forward to a great video.

Irish Times Parkour article

March 27th, 2006

Memebers of the Urban Ghosts clan in Dublin recently had an interview and photo session with the Irish Times which resulted in an article published on the 25th of March. ( Page 8 of the magazine section, if you happen to have one at home )
The article talks about the groups all over the country, some of the moves involved and where it’s done in Dublin.
Thanks go out to the journalist: Davin O’ Dwyer and the traceurs who attended including Crimson, fathead, rjpc and Dr. Lepton Quark among others.

Definitely the best parkour article in Ireland to date.

TrishnaParkourKev on the forums provided an excellent write-up of the day.
I arrived in town travelling with Ciaran (non-traceur) and met up with Incessant outside TK Maxx in Castlecourt. We headed to Waterfront to see who was there Read the rest of this entry »

Parkour Clans in Ireland

October 11th, 2005

It seems like only a short while ago that anyone doing parkour in Ireland found it extremely difficult to meet other people doing the same. Now with the scene growing, a number of regular groups have sprung up.

In no particular order:

  • Dominatus Decurses
  • Trishna clan
  • Urban Ghosts
  • Rush 101 / SB crew
  • Red Island Krew

With clans in Galway, Dublin and Belfast hopefully we’ll see more parkour in more places all around the country in the near future.

David Belle

August 17th, 2005

David Belle, one of the founders of parkour is currently starring in a movie called Banlieu 13 ( district 13 )
While it’s not a parkour movie, Monsieur Belle does take the opportunity to show off his amazing parkour skills ( 5.2MB wmv, right click and ’save target as’ )

Welcome to Parkour Ireland

August 16th, 2005

Yes, it’s another change of scenery here at parkour Ireland.

To all the people who are doing parkour in Ireland and especially those of you who keep the forum alive I want to say thanks. I haven’t been involved much at all here lately and if it wasn’t for you the site would be dead. Cheers.

The front page of the site is now running with wordpress blogging software which makes it very easy to update, hopefully you’ll see regular news posts from now on that will encourage you all to keep coming back.

The forum has been steadily growing in numbers over the last few months, nothing’s going to change there and hopefully it will go from strength to strength.

Any comments or suggestions? Let us know.
